ILS is participating in a multi-laboratory effort with an international company

ILS is pleased to participate in the 2nd step of the 4th phase of the International Validation of the in vivo Rodent Alkaline Comet Assay for the Detection of Genotoxic Carcinogens. This multi-laboratory collaborative effort is sponsored by the Japanese Center for the Validation of Alternative Methods (JaCVAM). The 1st step of the 4th phase validation study successfully demonstrated comparable results for four coded test chemicals. The purpose of this next step is to investigate the predictive capability of the Comet assay for chemical carcinogenicity using many coded test chemicals. The ultimate goal of the validation effort is the adoption of an OECD guideline for the detection of genotoxic chemicals using the in vivo rodent Comet assay.
